CONSERVATION RESERVE

Nearly half of the property has been set aside for conservation. This includes stringybark habitat for the threatened south eastern Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo, spring-fed swampy land and a lot of river flat covered in Red Gums, many dating over 200 years old. That is where a lot of materials come from for Tim's works.

THE DEER FARM

We have farmed Red Deer for over 30 years. Red Deer are beautiful animals.
The stags are remarkable for their antler growth. In late spring, they cast off last years hard antler and immediately start growing a new set. This new growth progresses through the velvet stage to full size hard antler over summer in readiness for the 'Rut' (mating season ) in autumn.
The females (hinds) do not have antler; they give birth to calves mid summer.
