So pretty! We farm red deer so they are named stags, hinds and calves (fallow deer are bucks, does and fawns). When they're young red deer do have spots (like all fallow deer) but they fade within a few months. They spend a lot of time sleeping and very well hidden (can you see the calf in the bracken?). They will lie still and if you're quick they can be snatched up for inspection. If your not quick though, they'll be off at a speed nearly matching the hind.
