Tim was commissioned in 2020 to manufacture just five pairs of redgum handbag handles as part of a collaboration between Art Gallery South Australia and artist John Dallwitz. Sounds straight forward but redgum is very hard and brittle and each handle needed to be thin and strong. The answer was to use three ply redgum...but you cannot by redgum plywood so it had to be made here on the farm.
The five handbags were presented for sale in the South Australian Art Gallery in October 2021 and sold out (at $450 each) in just over one week!
